The company policy is to ensure that all its operations are carried out to the highest standards and to maintain a safe environment for all its employees and any person who may be affected by its operations.
The Group has introduced a Total Integrated Management System which incorporates the ISO 9001:2008, the OHSAS: 18001:2007 and the ISO: 14001:2004 standards. The Group carries accreditation to all three standards.
Health & Safety Mission Statement
This GMC Group Health and Safety Policy Statement is issued in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005.
The company policy is to ensure that all its operations are carried out to the highest standards and to maintain a safe environment for all its employees and any person who may be affected by its operations.
In order to meet these criteria the company accepts its obligations under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) (Amendment) Regulations, 2010 to seek to reduce the incidence of Accidents, Dangerous Occurrences and Hazards within its working practices.
The company requires that all employees / sub-contractors shall regard safe working as a prime objective and take all possible steps to achieve it. To ensure this is carried out fully, a comprehensive system is in operation which enables all incidents to be fully investigated and results acted upon.
The need to ensure that our operations include safe systems of work, safe plant, equipment and a safe place of work is a major consideration with the company. It also ensures that all employees are fully trained for the work they carry out.
The company's Safety Statement lays down quite clearly the responsibility of all levels of Management and other employees, and this Safety System is monitored by Safety Officers, who reports to the Managing Director.
Carrying out all work in accordance with all statutory legislation currently in force, including the regulations and codes of practice made or approved there-under is a prime factor in our operations.
