Sewers Division

In line with our practice of developing specialist teams, GMC Utilities Group has established a highly skilled sewer maintenance unit trained in confined space operations. Combining the latest technology with established and proven methods, we provide a cost-effective and efficient service to a wide range of clients in the water sector and local authorities.

A strong focus on training, health and safety and quality helps maintain standards and ensures that the Group meets the increasingly exacting requirements of our clients’ internal standards and compliance legislation

The Group maintains a policy of investing in new plant and technology. By using the latest recycling technology GMC Utilities Group is able to clean a variety of waste water systems and vessels in an environmentally friendly manner by reducing water usage, minimising waste generation and reducing facility downtime.

  • Cleaning of both non-man and man entry drains and sewers
  • CCTV Surveying of drains and sewers
  • Installation on new connections to drains and sewers
  • Dimensional /Conditional Surveys of drains and sewers
  • Replacement of existing sewers using GRP Lining
  • Replacement of existing sewers using ‘Cured In Place’ Techniques

GMC Utilities group continues to carry out work for Dublin City Council and other Local Authorities. Projects carried out to date include:

2012 – Cleaning, Dimensional/Conditional Survey , localised repairs to 1.5mx1.0m masonry sewer under tidal conditions at Cardiff Lane for DCC

2012 – Emergency Response to collapsed sewer in Grangegorman and subsequent replacement of sewer with 0 85mx0.55m GRP liners for DCC

2013 – 2000m of GRP lining for RPA/TII under or adjacent to tram lines. Sizes ranging from  800×500 to 2.4×800

2013 – Remove build up of silt and survey section of sewer with CCTV. Supply and insert GRP liners into defective section of sewer and grout same Balfe Street for DCC

2013 – Reline section of existing sewers with egg shaped liner 1740 mm x 840mm Renovation of existing sewer with GRP Type 11 Segment Liners Hawkins Street for Grahams

2014 – Undertake the cleaning of the existing sewer by vactor and power jetting using existing manholes for access in advance of the pre-dimensional survey works Marlborough Place for RPA

2015 – Townsend Street 100m of 900×500 GRP units (sewer collapsing and situated under an array of services)

2015 – Pearse Street 100m of GRP situated close to Luas tracks. 1600×800

2015 – Parnell Street relining of 200m GRP to reinforce sewer under new carriageway reinstatement. 2×850

2016 – Killarney Street removal of approx. 10m of concrete injected into sewer during building works and invert lining of approx. 25m

2017 – Braddogue cleaning and rehabilitation and releveling of 160m of failing sewer with GRP units 1100 diameter

2018 – Marlborough Street and College Street the relining of 400m of failing sewer close to Luas tracks. Sizes ranging from 800×500 to 1600×800
