Over the years GMC has carried out work for most of the country’s local authorities to assist in their Urban Renewal projects. These works have included footpath upgrades, public lighting ducts, car parking bays, widening pedestrian access, installation of seating bays, installation of fishing bays, reinstatement of carriageway, Quality Bus Corridors and so on. GMC continues to foster relationships with Local Authorities and on an ongoing basis is involved in the reconstruction of existing carriageway, paved areas and footpaths with new and re-used paving materials to vehicular standards; drainage and cable ducting; formation of foundations for art work, electrical installation and landscape. Other works involve the removal of existing trees; supply and installation of street furniture; removal, cleaning, painting and replacement of existing street furniture. Since most of these works are in areas of high density population GMC, through our Customer Service Centre, endeavour to maintain a continuous dialogue with the community and other interested parties as work progresses to ensure that everyone developes a sense of ownership.
