Some years ago the GMC Directors put in place the resources to enable them to increase their presence in the Water industry. The company was successful in its tender for the Anglian Water International/Dublin Region Water Conservation Project. Following award of this contract GMC repaired in excess of 20,000 leaks, installed over 350 Magnetic Meters, Boundary Boxes and Pressure Reduction Valves. The contract was for a three year period and took in the Greater Dublin area including Kildare and Wicklow.
The company went on to complete twenty small rehabilitation schemes within Dublin County Council, South Dublin County Council, Dunlaoghaire Rathdown County Council and Bray Urban District Council. These schemes ranged from 90mm to 280mm MDPE Mains Laying and Service Laying with work packages anything from 200 to 300 metres up to 2 to 3 kilometres in length.
As a result of the success of the above and similar schemes GMC was able to tender for and win the contract for the Dublin Region Non-Domestic (Commercial) Water Metering Project.
The GMC Group was tasked with carrying out the following activities on behalf of and with the authority of Dublin City Council, Fingal County Council, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and South Dublin County Council:
